Srinagar, Jun 26 (KNO): Bollywood Director Kabir Khan Wednesday said that shooting in Kashmir was way much easier compared to many states of India citing the ample landscape choices and cooperation from the public. Addressing media after attending Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Conclave, Khan, who was flanked by Bollywood directors Vishal Bharadwaj and Imtiyaz Ali, said shooting in Kashmir has been a good experience for them. “Kashmir is surprisingly an easy location to shoot. Permission is easy available compared to some other places and people here are helpful for a filmmaker to shoot. We get ample beauty and a variety of landscape here,” he said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He said they have been always looking for the local talent in Kashmir. Imtiyaz Ali said they are serious to make films and show rooted in Kashmir. “We always look for some good scripts. If a good script comes up with Kashmir theme, we can work on it.” Ali said for a Kashmiri to make a mark in Bollywood will require hard work. “ I think people of Kashmir will have to dispel the persisting resistance regarding opening of cinema halls and people choosing films as career,” he said. Vishal Bharadwaj said the government’s film policy was providing enough opportunity to the local film makers to make films based on Kashmir. “Local filmmakers can avail double subsidy which amounts to Rs 3 crore. So in a way the government is giving you money to make films,” he said. Bharadwaj said the local artists can reach them with scripts for Kashmir based films. “We are always hungry for scripts. Anyone who has a good script can reach us through our agents in Mumbai or associates in Kashmir. We have dreams and hopefully they are going to become projects,” he said—(KNO)
